The Encore Group (Envelopes and Packaging Limited) (“Encore”) is committed to manufacturing printed envelopes in an ethical and socially responsible manner.

Ethical operations

The Staff Handbook issued to all employees lays down formal codes of behavior expected of employees, which promote a commitment to maintaining the highest standard of ethics and integrity in the conduct of Encore’s business.

These codes include guidelines covering confidentiality, e-mail and internet use, copyright,wastage, standards of dress and housekeeping, policies on alcohol and drugs, gambling and buying or selling of goods and also as regards any statements made to the media.

Health & safety

Encore is committed to providing high standards of safety and to the continual improvement of its health and safety performance. Responsibility for health and safety lies with our Health & Safety Manager who reports directly to the Board of Encore on a monthly basis.

Employees are kept informed of current health and safety issues through information provided through health & safety committee meetings and our intranet.

Environment

Encore is committed to pursuing high standards of environmental performance, including the maintenance of safe and healthy working environments.

Encore operates in accordance with the IS014001 Environmental Management System and focuses on resource efficiency in order to minimise the effect of its operational processes on the environment.

Encore recognises that employees are our most important asset and critical to the overall delivery of our services and ultimate customer satisfaction. Relations with employees are based on respect and we are committed to a safe and healthy working environment where there is mutual trust and where everyone is accountable for their own actions and share responsibility for the performance and reputation of the company.

Business Partners

Encore audits and closely manages suppliers, particularly any using “low cost” countries. In accordance with 1809001 and 18014001 only quality approved organisations are used.

Communities

Encore provides worthwhile and valuable local employment in a safe and well cared for environment and encourages a healthy work/life balance.

Encore is an active supporter of projects local in the community and encourages and supports employees to get involved in fund-raising events.
